Mt Elbrus Climbing Expedition itinerary
Day 1: Arrival – Mineralnye Vody → Baksan Valley
➾ Arrive at Mineralnye Vody Airport.
➾ Group transfer to hotel in the Baksan Valley / Cheget area.
➾ Check-in and rest after travel.
➾ Overnight at hotel.
Day 2: Acclimatization Hike – Mt. Cheget (3,000 m)
➾ Breakfast at hotel.
➾ Acclimatization hike to Mt. Cheget (approx. 3,000 m).
➾ Optional visit to the scenic “Hair of the Girl” Waterfall.
➾ Return to hotel in the evening.
➾ Overnight at hotel.
Day 3: Base Camp Transfer & Acclimatization (3,900 m)
➾ Breakfast and check-out from hotel.
➾ Transfer by cable car / ski lifts to Elbrus National Park huts (barrels) at approx. 3,900m.
➾ Acclimatization hike up to 4,200–4,300 m.
➾ Dinner and overnight at base camp huts.
Day 4: Acclimatization Hike – Pastukhov Rocks (4,800 m)
➾ Breakfast at base camp.
➾ Acclimatization hike to Pastukhov Rocks (approx. 4,800 m).
➾ Focus on altitude adaptation and climbing rhythm.
➾ Descend back to base camp.
➾ Dinner and overnight at huts.
Day 5: Rest Day & Snow / Ice Training
➾ Rest and recovery day for summit preparation.
➾ Snow and ice training session:
➾ Crampon techniques
➾ Ice axe use
➾ Rope safety and movement on snow
➾ Final gear check and summit briefing.
➾ Dinner and overnight at huts.
Day 6: Summit Day – Mt. Elbrus (5,642 m)
➾ Early wake-up call around 1:00 a.m.
➾ Light breakfast and preparation.
➾ Start summit ascent toward the West Summit of Mt. Elbrus.
➾ Optional snow-cat ride (extra cost: USD 400) to reduce climbing distance.
➾ Reach the summit (weather and conditions permitting).
➾ Descend back to base camp.
➾ Overnight at huts.
Day 7: Reserve Day & Descent
➾ Reserved day for weather contingency or second summit attempt.
➾ Descend from base camp to Baksan Valley.
➾ Transfer to hotel.
➾ Overnight at hotel.
Day 8: Departure – Mineralnye Vody Airport
➾ Breakfast at hotel.
➾ Group transfer to Mineralnye Vody Airport according to flight schedule.
➾ End of expedition.
